About Us

At Suburbs we recognise and embrace the importance of a solid and positive connection between our club and our community.

We strive to take all opportunities to connect with our community when possible, at local events, fundraisers or through our various sports in general.

Our local schools are very important to us and although we currently enjoy a healthy relationship with them, we will always look for any new initiatives to grow and strengthen that bond and mutual support.

Serving Our Community

Community connection for us goes far deeper than the sporting opportunities we provide and develop.

We’re kept busy and active facilitating the various initiatives from our me!, our mutual empowerment platform and find this component of our community connection to be very successful and rewarding.

Our History

Originally formed as Sunnyside Spreydon back in the late 1940’s a name change was agreed necessary in 1961 and Suburbs Rugby Football Club was the new chosen identity for our much loved club.

We have enjoyed great times and a rich history as we now navigate through new beginnings in terms of our new clubrooms and the rebuilding of that whānau/community environment we enjoyed so much back when we last enjoyed our own clubrooms down Mathers Road.
